The Photography/Poetry Project
I’m a lucky man. My girlfriend, Ashley Baer, was a journalist and middle school teacher, and now she’s got an MBA in Marketing, but I think her pictures are gorgeous and I really want her to do more photography! I also love to write poetry, but I never find the time to do it, so the other day she said to me, “You want to start a new project together?” And the concept of the Photography/Poetry Project was born! But I’m calling it Shisatsuei because I think the name is too boring. Maybe we can call it the PPP for short. Is that weird? It might be weird.
Anyway! Basically, I write a poem, and she takes a complimentary picture to accompany it. Then when she takes another new picture, I write a poem to go along with it in kind. I think it’s an awesome idea and I’m super excited to get started! In fact, I’ve already written the first poem and will post it later tonight. I’m really looking forward to this project, and I hope you guys can join us as we go! I will undoubtedly be drawing inspiration from Japan as soon as I get over there in September (and my flight is less than a month away now, holy cow!).
So until next time, guys!
またね!
I can’t wait to start this with you! <3
